OK, so I’m impressed

First order of business: I am truly sorry about the ridiculous quantity of pictures in this post. Just be reassured; this isn’t anywhere close to the total number of pictures we actually took. So I’ll keep the post brief and let the pictures speak for themselves.

Secondly: don’t get me wrong, I was looking forward to visiting Yellowstone, but I really didn’t expect it to hold a candle to Glacier National Park. After all, I’ve seen hot springs and I’ve seen plenty of rock formations. So I was prepared to be underwhelmed. But OH! Was I wrong! I must not have been listening when people described Yellowstone – it’s crazy! There is such a variety of features, far beyond Old Faithful!

Our week was thus: Our base for the first part of the week was in West Yellowstone, Montana. Sunday, we headed from there into Wyoming, up into north Yellowstone. Monday we went down through the south end of Yellowstone and into Grand Teton National Park, and Tuesday we looped around the east side of Yellowstone and back up through the south side to Old Faithful (and just by chance arrived there just 10 minutes before it erupted). Wednesday, we left West Yellowstone and traveled to Montpelier, Idaho, for two nights. While we were there, Thursday, we took a scenic drive back into Wyoming to check out Shumway Farms, where we bought farm-fresh dairy and meat products. Yesterday we traveled to Willard, Utah, to stay at Uinta Alpaca Farm, where I got to carry a three-hour-old baby alpaca and Deron got a tour of the whole farm and helped herd all the female alpacas from their day pen to the barn. And we purchased some farm-fresh eggs. Today we arrived in Green River, Utah, which will be base camp for Arches National Park and Canyonland National Park.

Hope you enjoy the photos 😊.
